Sergio Hermosillo
Founder & Director
Sergio Hermosillo is founder and director of Héroes Digitales, the program by Fundación Corazón Raíz, A.C. that connects rural Mexican communities forgotten by infrastructure and trains their youth for remote employment.
He grew up in the city of Chihuahua, in a state where violence marked his generation: Ciudad Juárez was once named the most dangerous city in the world. From childhood he joined his family on missions to vulnerable communities, learning early that the distance between a life that flourishes and one that is lost is often just opportunity, and whether someone reaches you in time.
He also leads CTN (Cloud Telecom Networks), an interoperability platform for telecommunications infrastructure in Latin America, from which he drives the community satellite-connectivity model together with unconnected.org. He is a Propel Fellow, part of the first cohort of Zenani Academy (Zenani Capital), and a member of Rotary International, and served as Vice President of Social Responsibility at Jóvenes COPARMEX Mexico City, the youth chapter of Mexico's employers confederation.
